It is my great pleasure to invite you to the conference “How to make trade and human rights compatible?”, which will take place on Tuesday 27 June 2023, from 01:30 to  03:00 PM.

This conference will be the opportunity to present the study conducted by Professor Van Elsuwege (University of Ghent) and Dr Joyce De Coninck (University of New York). This study investigates options to make the “democratic clause” effective in trade deals as repeatedly requested in EP resolutions. After the presentation of the study, its findings and recommendations will be discussed with Madelaine Tuininga (DG Trade), Luisa Ragher (EEAS), Valentina Stoeva (office of the EU Ombudswoman) & Gaëlle Dusepulchre (FIDH).
